A fax was sent to Graham Atkinson on 25th August 2005, with a copy being handed to him personally on 27th August 2005:

Dear Mr Atkinson,                                Re: Marenghi organ restoration

As I am nearing the completion of this project this is to remind you of the agreement that the organ is to be taken away from the yard only when I have your full payment for work done. I am not prepared to let the organ go until I am satisfied that it will make an acceptable display in looks and sound, and estimate that the job will take at least until next Tuesday. Costs to date, including Judith Howard’s time and expenses up to and including next Tuesday, is estimated to be £-----(amounts hidden). As I have received £-----, the amount to pay before the organ is released is £-----.

Please arrange for this to be deposited into my bank account by Direct Credit by Monday 29th August
(bank details hidden):

Although Judith and I are doing everything we can to finish the job by then, there is no guarantee that the organ will be ready for collection on Tuesday 30th August. If work is ongoing after this date, an additional amount will be required to cover costs, which must be paid in cash on the day of collection, to be advised accordingly.
